LINDA & BERND at the Brussels' flea market

I thought it would be nice to repeat here the photo I took when Linda Pelati from Milan visited Brussels. The Fox square is the place of a daily flea market. Sunday is more for tourists. During the week it is more for locals.

Great house with bird motives in my neighborhood

MATONGE

Mural painting to indicate you are near Matonge in Brussels (ZIP 1050, near Porte de Namur). Matonge is the Congolese neighborhood. Mural by Cheri Samba and in the mural the Belgian artist J-P Lahaye in discussion with the Congolese artist. For insiders.

WILD FLOWERS GROWING NEAR TRAM RAILS

Also near the Villo booth, Brussels

VILLO

A latest initiative in Brussels against traffic congestion. You can rent a bike to go to your job instead of taking the car. You can leave the bike behind at a booth and take another bike to return home. Huge success for the moment because of the cheap rates. VILLO is the contraction of the French words VELO (bike) and VILLE (city). I think they modeled themselves on a Berlin experiment. In the sixties I knew the white bikes in Amsterdam. They were free but that didn't work because most bikes were stolen.

MEMORIAL FOR AN UNKNOWN CAT

I tried to save a group of 3 wild stray cats last summer. One died in the garden, the second ran away and did not return, the first one still lives with me.
This is to the memory of the cat who was so unfed she could hardly eat anymore and died within days.

DO YOU ALSO HAVE A BAD EYE SIGHT?

More ceramics from madame Loulou in my garden. I like to play and fool around with them.

TOMB OF SECRET LOVERS AND THE SOUL OF THEIR BONES

Installation in my garden, ceramic piece by Madame Loulou (art brut artist from Liège, Belgium); added stones and bones by me.

TARANTINO IN THE GARDEN

My wild stray cat Tarantino is always quite cautious in my garden, on the lookout for other cats, and always interesting in what I am doing!

PERFORMANCE OF LONELINESS

On the Scottish ferry, great shot by Marilyn Dammann.

Funny picture Marilyn Dammann shot in the year 1996.

PEACE AMONGST SOME OF MY BOOKS

During a winter I decided to pee "peace" in the snow, to show the vulnerability and difficulty to obtain peace. Performance art can only be documented afterwards by photography. This photo was a long time on one of my book cases, till I mailed it as a contribution to a mail art peace project, forgot which one.

A DISH OF SNOW

Great photo I received from Mineige, Belgium. Made me write a poem on hunger.
