A blog on snapshots. I like to take photographs and I like to receive photos. I do this to document "life" and "surroundings" on a strictly non-professional base. And so do most other participants. This is now an open project for all. So everyone can mail me photos to be published on this blog: Guido Vermeulen, Vinçottestr 81, B-1030 Brussels, Belgium. Email: signsstones@yahoo.com with resolution 72DPI and size between postcard and A4.

LINDA & BERND at the Brussels' flea market
I thought it would be nice to repeat here the photo I took when Linda Pelati from Milan visited Brussels. The Fox square is the place of a daily flea market. Sunday is more for tourists. During the week it is more for locals.

VILLO
A latest initiative in Brussels against traffic congestion. You can rent a bike to go to your job instead of taking the car. You can leave the bike behind at a booth and take another bike to return home. Huge success for the moment because of the cheap rates. VILLO is the contraction of the French words VELO (bike) and VILLE (city). I think they modeled themselves on a Berlin experiment. In the sixties I knew the white bikes in Amsterdam. They were free but that didn't work because most bikes were stolen.

PEACE AMONGST SOME OF MY BOOKS
During a winter I decided to pee "peace" in the snow, to show the vulnerability and difficulty to obtain peace. Performance art can only be documented afterwards by photography. This photo was a long time on one of my book cases, till I mailed it as a contribution to a mail art peace project, forgot which one.
